Welcome to the Good Ship Sinopia’s submission centre. Our crew’s mission is to explore the indie comic universe in search of fresh, new comics for Fans to enjoy.
Our ship is capable of traveling to the far recesses of the indie comic universe, far past the traditional solar systems of mainstream comic, to bring our Fans untold stories.
How do we hope to accomplish this mission? By offering indie comic Creators an alternative to traditional publishing models.
If your comic is accepted by Sinopia Comics Inc. for distribution, you’ll work side by side with other Creators, leveraging our combined voices to promote all our books.

Sinopia Comics is not your traditional publisher. We are a donation-based publisher, meaning: all the comics on our site are free for Fans to read. And when Fans find a comic they like, they can support their favorite Creators by gifting them a donation.
Our donation-based distribution model creates a low-risk environment for Fans wanting to join us on our voyage into the uncharted recesses of the indie universe.
The environment created aboard this spacecraft is designed to empower Fans to support their favorite Creators. That’s why we don’t force our Fans to pay for books. Instead, we provide them an opportunity to rally behind the comics that move them the most.
We knew that for a platform like this to work, it had to be a win-win for Fans and Creators.
So, Fans get a platform that allows them to try out fresh, new indie comics in a risk-free environment.
And Creators wanting to try more unconventional means of reaching new Fans now have a free platform to do so. A platform designed to forge real connections with Fans while keeping the majority of donations where they belong: in the pockets of hardworking Creators.
Sinopia collects the donations, takes a small cut to ensure the site continues running for future indie Creators, and passes the remainder of the donations onto you, the Creator (less any bank/merchant/transaction fees, or taxes, involved in receiving and forwarding the donations).
- Completed graphic novels
- Completed continuous story arcs
- Completed one-shots
- Smaller comic collections/anthologies (short stories)
Incomplete project pitches will also be considered. Note that Creator(s) must assemble their own teams—Sinopia Comics will not do this for you.
You may only submit content that you have the full legal right to submit and license to Sinopia Comics.
Comics that have previously appeared online or in print will also be considered as long as you have the full legal right to submit and license the work to Sinopia Comics.
Unconventional publishing models, such as pay what you want or our donation-based model, have become more popular with Creators as of late. But often, artists that want to try these more innovative models are left to go-it alone.
Start-up costs for this can get expensive (ecommerce sites, hosting, possible incorporation etc.), not to mention the large amount of time it takes to run these independent sites.
Enter Sinopia Comics. A spaceship…errr web platform…that takes care of all the logistics for Creators—letting them focus more on what matters most to them: their art!
The end goal: to create a community where Fans and Creators can come together to support one another in the creation of great art.
Sinopia Comics requires you provide a non-exclusive license to display the work.
What rights do I get to keep?
You retain all your movie, TV, videogame, toy and clothing rights. As mentioned above, all Sinopia requires is a non-exclusive license to display the work.
That’s completely up to you—there is no time limit. Should you wish to remove your comic from our site, all we ask is that you provide us with written notification and give us 30 days to take the comic down.
Yes. The agreement you enter with Sinopia is a “non-exclusive agreement,” meaning: you can post your comic on other sites as well.
Great stories. Stunning art. Unique, character-driven stories are our top priority.
We love our superhero punch-ups as much as anyone, but we’re looking for any and all great stories. All genres will be considered.
Your project will be reviewed by our team at Sinopia Comics.
No. Any story that is unique, exciting and is well suited to be told through sequential art will be considered.
Sinopia Comics Inc. is a small start-up with limited resources. We unfortunately do not have the capacity to respond to every submission we receive or to provide feedback on submissions that we do not accept.
Creators who submit projects that have been accepted by Sinopia Comics Inc. for distribution will be contacted directly.
Any comic project that has been reviewed and is not being considered for distribution will be permanently deleted from Sinopia’s servers. The only time a comic project will be kept is if A) the comic/graphic novel is still being reviewed, or B) if we are in conversation with a Creator regarding potential distribution through our website.
To participate in the service, Creators must have a valid PayPal account to which we can send their portion of any donations.
Provide us with a detailed description of all the main story points. Don’t leave important items out.
Explain the whole story to us as if there was no comic for us to read.
Who is your main character? Why will people care about him/her? What happens in your project? How does everything resolve? And what makes your comic unique?
Please submit your comic project via our submission portal.
