Calgary Comic Expo 2017 recap

Fellow Travelers,

As many of you know, we made a quick detour back to Earth last week to attend the Calgary Comic Expo.

Originally, we were told that there were no booths available at the event. Then, a few days prior to Expo, we received a transmission from the organizers that they’d had a last minute cancelation: we were in!

The booth:

This left us with one day to develop materials for the show as we rocketed back towards Earth at light speed.

Miraculously, we developed some beautiful artwork for the numerous banners, pamphlets and other promotional material needed. And, we even got them all printed in time!

Then it was down to the BMO Centre in Calgary to construct our booth with only hours left on the clock!

We made it, just in time!

Love it when a plan comes together.

Overall, we think the booth turned out pretty well all things considered. What do you think?

Coverage from the show:

While at the show I was overwhelmed by the positive reception Sinopia Comics received. Thank you to everyone who made the time to stop by our booth. We really appreciate it!

The wonderful folks at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) sent a representative from their editorial team to post a photo of your Captain to their alumni Instagram feed. You can check out the post here.

The Pop Culture Café also stopped by for a fun little interview for their podcast. You can listen to the interview they did (interview begins approximately 41 minutes in) here.

A little fun away from the booth:

In-between shifts manning the booth, the Sinopia volunteers also took the time to explore the show and even ran into some celebrities!

From top to bottom: Adrian Paul, Danielle Panabaker, and Ruth Connell!

And now, it’s back into space. We’ve got more great comics to discover!
